Ajax has been fined €25,000, and as a consequence of the match abandonment against Feyenoord, the club’s most passionate supporters, commonly referred to as the F-side, have been temporarily prohibited from attending the upcoming home game. The KNVB has mandated that sections 125 to 129 of the Johan Cruyff Arena remain unoccupied during the match against Vitesse Arnhem on November 25. This measure is aimed at addressing concerns related to the F-side’s history of violence and hooliganism.

The KNVB stated, “In determining the punishment, we have taken into consideration the nature and seriousness of the offenses, as well as Ajax’s prior history of sanctions, which includes several violations.”

The Klassieker against Feyenoord was prematurely terminated in the 55th minute, with Feyenoord leading 3-0, as a result of fans repeatedly throwing objects, including flares and plastic cups, onto the pitch. The match was later completed in an empty stadium three days later, and Feyenoord won 4-0.

Last season, the regulations were made more stringent following an incident in which Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen was struck on the head by a cigarette lighter thrown from the crowd during a Dutch Cup match between the same two clubs at Feyenoord’s De Kuip stadium.

Although Ajax currently occupies the bottom spot in the Eredivisie, they will aim to improve their position when they face Volendam at home on Thursday, a match that was rescheduled to accommodate the resumption of the unfinished match against Feyenoord.
